The highlights of Pope Leo XIV's third day in Türkiye include a visit to Istanbul's Blue Mosque, an ecumenical meeting with Christian leaders, prayer with Patriarch Bartholomew, and Mass with Catholic faithful from across the country.

Pope Leo XIV kicked off the third day of the Apostolic Journey to Türkiye with a brief visit and guided tour of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, known as the “Blue Mosque.”

He then joined leaders of various Christian Churches and Communions at the Syriac Orthodox Church of Mor Ephrem for a private ecumenical meeting.

After lunch at the Apostolic Delegation, the Pope met with Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew I at the Patriarchal Church of St. George, where the two prayed the Doxology and signed a Joint Declaration condemning the use of religion to justify violence.

Pope Leo wrapped up Saturday by celebrating Mass at the Volkswagen Arena for around 4,000 faithful from across Türkiye.
