UN concern over disrupted life in Gaza

UN Humanitarian officials say Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip are disrupting civilian life, damaging shelters and increasing displacement.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said timber, rope, solar lights and basic tools need to enter Gaza quickly so aid groups can expand assistance and upgrade shelters, adding that current operations are limiting access to life‑saving services.

Aid groups improved nearly 3,000 makeshift shelters in Gaza City last week and distributed emergency supplies to 9,000 households.

Separately, sixteen Palestinians were injured and more than 60 arrested on Thursday during an Israeli military operation at a refugee camp north of Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews treated 16 people with varying injuries and evacuated several patients.

In Gaza, the Hamas‑run press office said Israel has committed 4,091 violations of the ceasefire agreement over the past 300 days, killing 1,254 Palestinians and injuring 4,121.

Also Thursday, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt issued a joint statement condemning what they described as ongoing Israeli violations in Gaza.
